Automatic capitalization of first letter in visio...

is REALLY ANNOYING. I would have hoped to find a check box on the "Spelling"
tab under "Tools" / "Options" so I could disable this, but even when I turn
off the autocorrect spelling option, Visio still assumes that it should
automatically capitalize the first letter of anything I type into a flowchart
symbol.

You can go to Tools > AutoCorrect Options and uncheck "Capitalize first
letter of sentences".
