I just switched from Excel for Windows to Excel for Mac. In the Windows version, if you were entering text into a cell and there was text in a previous entry in that column that matched what you were typing, Excel would fill in the cell with the previous entry. You could stop typing to accept the suggestion or continue typing if that was not the text you were entering.
In the Mac version, instead of filling in the cell, a drop down box appears with choice(s) for the cell. If there is a match, you don't have to continue typing but you do have to choose the match, I assume with the mouse. I know it's a small issue, but going from the keyboard to the mouse to select the entry and then back to the keyboard to continue typing is somewhat disruptive.
Is there any way to change this behavior in Excel Mac?
Thanks.
