Automatic changes

Hi all,
When changing the start of task in Project Pro 2007, other data are
automatically modified. for example when we change start of task,
there is 2 cases :

-the finish of task will be modified and the duration does not change

-the duration is modified and the finish doesnot change

On which these behaviours are based on?
How we can efficiently set these behaviour at the way that we want?

When you edit the start date, the finish date will always change. If you
want the start and duration to change and finish date stay the same, you
have to change the start and duration data. Only exception is if there is a
finish-finish link.
