As I was looking through the Access 2007 product features I noticed that
automatic data type detection was declared as a new feature. But to my
knowledge this feature was present in Access 2003 as well. Can someone please
calrify?

Access 2003 can do automatic type conversion for you.

The product feature they are talking about is in regards to their new
on-the-fly table creation. As you start entering data, it creates the
table for you, and creates the table field type based on the datatype
you are entering.

2007 is trying to make the creation of new databases a much simpler
process for new folks.
