Automatic date insertion

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I know I've done this before but I just can't remember how. I've tried every option I can think of and searched the archives but still can't do it.

I want the current day's date to always appear on a document, preferably in the bottom right. I don't want to add this to the Normal Template as I don't add the date to all documents.

Thanks so much for refreshing my faulty memory.

Hi Sheri:

Inset>Field>Date...

Note: That will update to today's date every time you open the document.
You may consider using te field "PrintDate" instead, which will update only
if you print it.

Thank you very much. Turns out that at some point I must have deleted "field" from the insert menu. I've added it back and now all works well.

Thanks.
