Automatic Download of Office 2003 SP1 continues to want to update

With Windows Automatic Update on, system found Office 2003 SP1 and downloaded
it to my computer. Could not install update because of registry problem.
After registry problem fixed updated to SP1 through Office site. After update
was successful restarted computer. Now the downloaded update (Office 2003
SP1) wanted to be installed. Installed it successfully it said. Two minutes
later auto update came on again and again asked to install SP1. It's caught
in a loop. How do I get the system to understand SP1 is successfully
installed?
