automatic file naming error

I save files by naming them the current date .doc (i.e.
october 26 2003.doc) and put them into differnt folders.
Since the date is the first line of the document,word
automatically uses the date as the file name; which is
how I want it. This works for the first file of the day
but every other file is named october 26 2001. The last
digit is changed from 3 to 1 every time. How do I stop
this from happening.
