Automatic go to Input and send/receive on invocation?

Does Outlook have an option similar to what Outlook Express has: Upon
Invocation of Outlook, automatically go to the Input folder and issue a
send/receive?

Automatic Send/Receive starts shortly after Outlook is opened provided you
have an automatic send/receive polling period set. How to set that depends
on your version of Outlook. you need to be more specific.

I'm using Outlook 2003 under WinXP Home SP2.

Ctrl + Alt + S goes into define send/receive groups. set a period to check
email there and Outlook will start checking shortly after it loads.

I used Ctrl+Alt+S and found nothing unusual there. For my own curiosity, and
for the sake of making this thread as meaningful as possible, I tried to
find how to get there using menus. I went through
Tools>Send/Receive>Send/Receive Settings and found that Disable Scheduled
Send/Receive was checked! I unchecked it and half of my request was solved.
Thank you very much!

The other half was wanting Outlook to open with a display of the Input
folder. Right now it displays Personal Folders and calendar events, which
is probably just as important to half the users as showing the Input folder,
so I don't have a legitimate complaint. If there is an option to
automatically display Input after Outlook loads, I'd like to know how to set
it.

"Input" with a capital "I".
I don't know how to re-state it any clearer:
"The other half was wanting Outlook to open with a display of the Input
folder."
and
"If there is an option to automatically display Input after Outlook
loads"

Of course, Brian, you're right. Thank you.

Jeez, Bill, you have to pay attention to what I MEAN, not what I SAY! :)

My thanks to you both. That wraps up this thread very nicely.

You could have meant anything and the responsibility is on you to be
accurate in your communication. I suspected that you meant Inbox but
replying to such would have defeated the purpose of learning for you.
You could have, after all, wanted the prompt to select a profile when
Outlook starts.

"Automatically display input"???? what do you mean?
If you are referring to the send/receive status then look in the bottom
right corner of the main Outlook Window.

You're absolutely right, Bill. Never too old to learn. I'm 71, and I was a
business applications programmer for almost 50 years. Thanks again.
