Automatic numbering within a paragraph

K

Kylie

Hi there

Not sure if you can do what I want, but I would like to have automatic
numbering throughout a document which would appear numerous times within a
paragraph ie.

1, 2, 3, 4 some text 5, some more text, 6 etc etc

without a bracket or full stop appearing after the number.

We can get it to work using listnum fields but it insists on putting a
bracket or full stop.

Can this be done? Hope I am making sense.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Kylie:

No, it can't.

You either get the terminator, or you have to use a SEQ field.

If you use SEQ fields, you can create any format you want, but you lose the
dynamic updating.

I will never understand how they missed the obvious with this one... Why
would they add a new field (ListNum) when all they had to do was make the
old one update automatically and the job was done!

Cheers
