Automatic Numbering

How do I convert a document filled with automatic paragraph numbering to static numbering without having to re-enter all of the paragraph numbers?

Hello Mario,

Select the paragraph(s) containing the automatic numbering => Command-x to
cut it => on the Edit menu, Paste Special => Unformatted text.

Note: In Word 2008, which I don't use yet, this may be accessible through a
different interface. If that causes problems, post back and someone will
help you further.
