Is it possible to get automatic slide transition to jump to another page than
next page in Powerpoint? (I'm using PP2008 on a Mac)
You've landed in the Windows group. You might want to check out the Mac
group. However, for this question, I think the answer is the same. Two
things that you could do to achieve this:
(1) Use hidden slides. If you want to jump from slide 7 to slide 9, you
could hide slide 8. If slide 7 is not hidden, any automatic jump from slide
7 will skip slide 8. You can always link directly to slide 8 to get there
from any other slide.
(2) Use custom shows. By doing this, you can arrange the show in any order
you want and automatic transitions will follow the order you designate. You
can set the presentation to show the specific custom show you want (Slide
Show > Set Up Show), or you can hyperlink from any slide to the custom show.
