Automatic time entry

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone knows if there is a way to automate the
work time data entry in MS-Project ?

Right now, my "human" resources enters their work time in a Time Sheet
tool that can output its database in a comma or space separated fields
format.

I would like to know if there is a way (or what is required) to make
MS-Project take this "time sheet" file and update automatically the
"work" done for each task in the GANTT view.

Hi Stefan,

What is needed is a VBA program.
Mind you, to make it work you have to make absolutely sure teh task names
and Resource names are identical etc.
I've done this more than once, I'm sure it works, but one needs to know
exactly how the inputs is structured etc.

You have a couple of alternatives. If you can get it into a comma or
space delimited format, you can import it into Excel, and then into
Project. You can use a VBA macro to do the same thing, but it my
experience, VBA macros can get complex, especially when moving data
between files, and be high maintenance in the long haul. This
application might not be all that complex.
Your other alternative is to get Timesheet software that is compatible
with Project. This depends on how "married" you are to your existing
timesheet software for other things, like accounting, etc.
