I have the saved autorecovery set for every 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it is
not a reliable backup. My copy of Word crashes from time to time and I have
found that the autorecovered document is sometimes corrupted. Last night, as
I was finishing my work, I pressed "Crtl-S" only to find that the pogram
failed and my work was lost, despite the "auto-recover" feature. I am using
Word for Office XP (i.e., 2002). In my previous edition for Word for Office
2000, I had downloaded a macro from Microsoft called Macros 9 that was
excellent. It allowed me to set the time when Word would save the open
documents as if I were had pressed "Ctrl-S." Unfortunately, that macro does
not work on my new version of Word. Is there any way (through a macro or
otherwise) that I can set up my version of Word to make a true backup at a
specified time interval?
I'm working on my Ph. D. dissertation and this has caused me a big headache.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob
