For some reason, when I open a form it does not display at the top left, the
view is part way down the page - not helpful!

How do I change this?

Please note I have only a very loose understanding of code

How do I change this?

The position is saved when you save the form. Put the form where you want it
to be when you open it, and then save the form. You might have to be in
design mode, but try it and see.
