Automatically get red square when pasting in word. How delete?

When I copy something and attempt to paste it in "Word" instead of the copied
material showing on the blank document a red square with black outline
appears. I can delete the square - but cannot paste the copied material.
Ever. Also have numerous "EZP"s on the Word toolbar - "Launch easy photo".
When I click on it I get a message "Microsoft Word Err 1220 - Word cannot
find or run the application."

Help, please.
