Automatically rearrange shapes from database restults

R

Remloc

I create a Visio page from an SQL database.

It creates a page containing shapes that represents server resources
that are populated in the database. When i finish the database wizard
all the shapes are ordened in the left-upper corner of the Visio page.
Is it possible to automaticly re-arrange the shapes to f.e. the middle
of the page and add labels, hyperlinks ed. to each shape?

At this moment i have to move all the shapes manually one by one. (and
i sometimes have 50 of them)

Have you tried Shape > Layout Shapes?

This doesn't do much for non-connected shapes, but it will at least put the
shapes in the center of the page, non-overlapping.

Note, you might have to do this first:

1. Select all shapes
2. Format > Behavior > Placement tab
3. Placement Behavior drop-down = Layout and route around

Hopefully at least a good first step!
