Automatically setting remaining work to zero

Hi,
I am trying to automatically set the remaining work to zero when the PM sets
the task to 100% complete. The problem is that Proj Pro always prompts the
message that the actuals are not sync. I have changed the values under
MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENT but Proj Pro still prompts the message. Is there a way to
remove that message and make sure the actuals are set to 100% complete?
Thanks

Hi,

I think you will have more problems than that. just updating WEB table like
that can corrupt your project very easily. You need to use one of the
following methods:

Use PWA timesheet
Update MSP tables directly (and very carefully)
Use automation to update
Use 3rd party time sheet that interfaces with Project Server or Project
Standard on its own
Used PDS method to update database.

It's very dangerous to write to the _WEB tables, you should use PDS instead
but PDS is replaced by something much better in Project 12.

All tables in pjdb.htm and plsvrdb.htm in one of project's program folders
or the project cd.

The problem is that when the PM changes the %Complete to 100%, project
increases actual work to match the work assigned, which does push the project
out of sync. For tasks that are completed with fewer hours than assigned, the
PM should adjust Remaining Hours to zero instead. This will lower work hours
assigned to match actual work, and the project will stay in sync.
