Automatically switch off reminder sound?

I want to set my calendar defaults so that a new appointment automatically
has a reminder (Tools/Options/Default Reminder) but without a reminder sound.

I know how to switch off the reminder sound for each individual appointment
but not how to switch off the sound as a default.

I'm using Outlook 2003
