Automating running query in Access 2000 to be exported to an existing Excel 2002 spreadsheet

Hi,

I need to reate a command button that automates the following:

(1)Run a select query in the background;
(2)Export the query results to an existing Excel 2002 spreadsheet

I've looked at many websites, and I do not seem to be able to get the
automation part down. I can export the query results, but not in the
background without the user having the query open up on their desktop. And
I can transfer the data to an existing spreadsheet. Now, I'm stuck mon how
to get this all automated.

Can anyone point me to a resource which addresses these issues?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to TransferSpreadsheet method? It works with queries as well
as tables.

Thanks, but yes I've tried that one. But I do not know how to get
everything to run in the background, without having the query display
itself. It's not as seamless as I need it to behave.
