Automating Templates - Another Question

J

JeanneJo

I am working on creating templates for state, federal and bankruptcy court.
I have bookmarks set for the district, division, etc. of the pleading forms,
but would like to default to the standard information we use most of the time
but allow users to change that default text, if and when necessary, when
creating the documents from the templates.

My question is: can I put "default" information in these bookmarks, such as
"Thirteenth" for the district; Montana for the Division - that sort of thing?

Thanks very much for your help, in advance.

What sort of forms are you using?

If they are userforms, you can set the default text for the textbox into
which the information may be added.

If you are using formfields as in a document that is protected for filling
in forms, you can also set the default text for the field.

Hi CJ - "collaboration" sounds good to me, although I have to warn you that I
am definitely the weak link in the process. I bought a book, have googled
and searched for information, and am just at the very beginning of learning
how to do this so the users in the Firm have an easier time preparing Word
documents.
But I'll be glad to do what I can in collaborating with you on these projects.

Hi Doug: they are userforms using text boxes - I have been trying to insert
the default text in the bookmark - apparently the wrong place to go. I'll
focus my attention on the default text for textboxes. Thanks for pointing me
in the appropriate direction.
