automation error

I have a form that contains a subform. The data in the
subform is refreshed by clicking a "Subject" button on
the form. This has worked fine until today when randomly
I get a message that says "Automation Error" and my only
option is "OK". The title of the error message box is
the name of my main menu form which is not even open.

I can't find anything in help or the knowledge base about
this error.

Any ideas on what could cause this?
