Automation problems with Word document with missing template

Hello,

We have an application that automates printing Word documents.

A client using our application has a Word document that references a
template that he does not have. When the document is opened, an error
message is shown stating "Could not open http://www.someaddress.net/xxx/template.dot".
This is also a protected document. This halts the automation, and
shows Word at the dialog prompt.

Testing here in-house with the same document, we get the same error
message when we open the document manually, but when we open&print the
document through the automation, it goes right through and does not
halt.

We've tried Office 2003 with SP3 on XP SP2, which is the client's
envrionemt, and we cannot get the halting behaviour.

Does anyone know what setting is different that causes the client's
Word automation to halt?

Thanks,
Geekgrrl.

Hi Geekgrrl,

I guess I'd try the macro security settings...
