Automation to generate a filesystem diagram

I'm trying to find a tool that can generate a simple diagram of a file
system, like the typical tree-view in Windows Explorer.

You might open a template named like a WindowsXp user interface, and there is
a stencil named like "icon".

I don't follow? I need something that I can feed a file system structure
(by text file, or giving it a path, or whatever) that will turn around and
automatically generate a diagram of the entire file system. I have a
project where we are analyzing the structure of a file system with thousands
of directories, and the manual way of drawing this out will take forever.
