Hi, if I need to write an application that access
Word or Excel, should I use VSTO or automation?
Under what circumstance should I choose one over
another?

Thank you!

Michael,

The decisign will depend on how you want to make the use of the automation.
If you are looking for any document centric solution, then VSTO is for you.
Otherwise you may opt for automation.

Hi

VSTO will only work if your document template has XMLK schema and proper
regions defined. So if u have such Smart Document then go for VSTO else
Office Automation
