Automator actions present in menu/folder, but not working whenselected

I have the sample automator actions present in my script men, but when
I choose them from the menu or execute via key command I get and error
message everytime for example: "The document “Flag selected messages
for follow-up\scs” could not be opened. "

However if I open the folder from the finder and run them they work
fine, but that takes away the quickness and speed of automator in the
first place.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

I have this exact problem the sample automator workflows won't open. I do know it's account specific. I created another account and it works fine. I am looking for a local user preference maybe?

Try setting the default file application to "Automator Runner", that worked for me. Not sure if it's the best solution.

There were some changes in the actions from the original install. Make sure
you are updated. 12.1.0 SP1 then 12.1.5.

If you are updated, try these steps....

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

See if this action is v 1.1

"/Library/Automator/Mark Entourage Mail Message as a To Do Item.action"

That action is v1.1

However, as stated previously, it is Mac OS user specific. I can't seem to find what preference or cache?

My problem is with .workflow files not .actions and it's any office application.

When you say account, do you mean in System Preferences you selected a new
User Account?

If they work in a new User's Account, then it's a preference. Try moving the
Microsoft folder out of your User's Library Preferences and see if it's
there.

It could also be in your database. Some preference files are in the
database. To test for this create a new Identity in Entourage and see if
they work in a new Identity. If that works, then you need to rebuild your
database.

Make a copy of your Identity in the Finder before rebuilding!
