autonumber field type

hi,

is there anyway i can have a result of 001 in an autonumber field type
iam using ang autonumber to one of my field in my table..

What is stored and how it is displayed are two different issues. If you use
the Access Autonumber data type, though, be aware that they a generally
unfit for human consumption ... so how they get displayed really shouldn't
matter.

If you need a guaranteed-sequential number, formatted to display three
places, you may have to build yourself a routine to handle the "custom
autonumber" (search on-line for that expression).

only way to do that is to use the format function... won't change the
value, just the way it is displayed.
