autonumber

how do I change the autonumber? i have deleted a record
so that the autonumbers go 1,3... is there anyway I can
change or reset the autonumbers? The field is Client ID
and it is the key field of the table.

NOPE:
The only way I know is to add another new field, and let
autonumber assign a new set of numbers. You can then
delete the old field. If you have other tables with
relationships, you have additional troubles. I recommend
not using autonumber if at all possible, partly because
of the reason you have run into.
