autoopen - does this work differently in word2002 than word97

Word97 autoopen and Word2002 autoopen behave exactly the
same when opening the document from word. What is
different is that when you Launch a Word template (.dot)
file from windows explorer (or Lotus Notes) in Word 2002
on XP you get a "File, New" based upon the template you
double clicked on which causes the autoopen not to run.
When you double click (launch) a Word template file from
windows explorer (or Lotus Notes) in word 97 on NT, the
actual template file opens and the autoopen macro runs.

Did the autoopen function change or is this an issue with
word 2002 or XP?
