Autopmatically setup entourage, no user input

Hello, i have some mac's authenticating with active directory at logon, i am hopeing then that when entourage is launched for the first time ,entourage can use the logon account info to automatically setup/configure entourage.

any ideas would be great as outlook can do this using mst files.

Hi Mark!

The functionality is not built into Entourage to do this, however, I'm
currently working on instructions to enable you as an administrator to
be able to do this setup for your Entourage users. My goal is to enable
Entourage for automatic setup the first time a user launches the
application.

If you want to E-mail me privately I'll let you know when the
instructions are complete. I have two others who are willing to test
when ready but never hurts to have more.

In the meantime I do have a setup script that you can use. It requires
your users to double-click it the first time they use Entourage but it
does all the setup. you can find it here:

Sorry another slight problem is that entorage the first time of opening will ask if you want to this as your default email syste.
anyway changing this so it automatically users entourage as the default mail clinet

Yes, that's a pain.

I corresponded recently with someone who said he uses this:

defaults write com.apple.LaunchServices LSHandlers '({LSHandlerRoleAll =
\"com.microsoft.entourage\"; LSHandlerURLScheme = mailto;})'

That's all one line by the way.

You can either run that via Terminal or include it in a script. It's
simply using the defaults command to modify com.apple.LaunchServices to
use Entourage for mail.

I haven't tested this yet but if it works then I'll be including it in
my future script.
