autopreview will not go away

Outlook 2002 using 2003 exchange server. Autopreview is
on. Click on view>autopreview and turn it off (which is
the desired setting). Close Outlook and reopen it and
Autopreview is back on. Cannot keep it turned off. Any
ideas on how to keep it turned off. Thank you in advance
for any help.
