Autorecovery saves as .asd, not .doc

How do I open a .asd file - Autorecovery saved it as ONLY
that? Autorecovery was setup to save as .doc every 10
minutes. Not sure what happened, but this file will be
nearly impossible to recreate. Please help! Thanks!
