Autoresolution / Autocompletion

In Outlook 2000, how do you turn on Autoresolution and/or Autocompletion (in
order for email addresses to be suggested as you begin typing)? I've read
some of the info that is out there, but when I try to follow the directions,
but it does not seem to help. "Suggest names while completing To, CC, BC
fields" is not a choice. "Automatic Name Checking" is selected, however it
still does not suggest names from the address book.

Outlook 2000 doesn't have autocomplete (where you start typing and
suggestions are offered). It only has autoresolution (automatic name
checking).

The autoresolution doesn't seem to work either. The "Automatic Name
Checking" is selected. If I understand correctly, in 2000, you should still
be able to begin typing a name and after 3 characters names are suggested
based on addresses in the address book. Is this accurate? If so, how do you
turn this on? Thanks!

No. That's autocomplete. Autoresolution requires you type in a name, or an
alias (like patriciac) and it will resolve automatically to the person's
name. The first three letter thing is autocomplete which is only available
in Outlook 2002 and higher.

Hi I have 2003 and only a couple of names will autocomplete my settings are
correct but it won't work...any ideas? please respond to

Have you sent enough mail to populate the cache? Ity's not tied to your
Contacts in any way.

Ol2000 only has autoresolution - not autocomplete. Uncheck automatic name
checking to disable it.

What happens you press alt+k? that is how you call up autoresolution when
it's disabled.

Hi,

When I use Ctrl+K for autoresolution, OL2k only searches the global address
book on the exchange server and not the personal email ids that i have in my
contacts. This used to work prviosuly when i had windows 2000 on my system.
but after my Desktop was formated and Windows XP installed.. OL2k is not
behaviing as before.

Please help!!!
