I need to get an Excel workbook "FinancialAnalysis.xls" to
automatically open in Excel when the CD is inserted into the CD-ROM
drive. I have explored writing the autorun.inf and can't get the
syntax right! I am NOT a programmer; and it shows! I have downloaded
"helper" starter programs, but the autorun still doesn't work. Here's
my current autorun.inf file: {Note: It is using one of those opener
files.}
*****
[autorun]
OPEN=opener.exe FinancialAnalysis.xls
ICON=Excel.exe,0
label=HIRE
*****
I burned the .inf, .xls and opener.exe file to the CD. When I reinsert
the CD, nothing happens. No errors. Nothing. I can see the computer
scan the drive; I can hear the CD spin; but Excel does not start and
the FinancialAnalysis.xls file does not open.
I have tried a second helper 'opener' called ExcelFre [found via this
group] with no luck.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you, Penny
