AutoSave Function missing or changed in Excel 2002 SP2 ?

We have a excel spreadsheet that is shared out. In an
older version of excel we had the AutoSave function set
for every 5 mins so everyone would get to current
changes. Some of our machines now have Excel 2002 SP2
the only function I have found is Auto-Recovery-Save
which doesn't function the same...Any Ideas or work
arounds would be greatly Welcomed.... Thanks Scott :{)

Excel 2002 does not have that nasty add-inn, the new auto recover
is much better. If you need an auto save I'd suggest that you use
Jan Karel Pieterse's Auto Safe

Jan's AUTOSAFE.xla is akin to the XP Autorecovery. It does not function the
same as the the old Autosave did.

My Autosafe does NOT save your work as Excel's Autosave does. It makes
*backup copies* of your work in progress. It DOES keep track of where
a backup file's original comes from so it knows where to restore it
to, should you experience a crash (which is what Excel's Autosave does

You still have to save your work yourself, but should Excel crash,
Autosafe will prompt you to restore the last backup copies it has kept
for you. It will also check whether the master version (original) is
more recent than the backup copy and warn you if that is the case.

The AUTOSAVE.XLA from earlier versions of Excel works fine on XP version. If
you can obtain a copy that is.
