AutoShapes not printing

Onesimus Prime

Hi all,
I haven't worked with Publisher before, and my boss is asking me to
troubleshoot his. It's the 2003 version, running on a new HP system with
Vista. As stated in the subject, AutoShapes don't seem to be printing.
There's a line with fancy ends (changed begin- and end-style) at the top and
bottom of each page, as well as boxes around photos, that just don't show up
on paper even though they do in Print Preview.
I tried changing the "Wrapping Style" of the lines under (right click)
--> Format AutoShape --> Layout tab, to no avail. I also tried printing in
Gray-Scale (black cartridge only) and in color; no change.
I found the Design Checker, which said of a few (but not all) of the
lines that the "object encroaches nonprinting region." Content prints out
above (at page top) and below (at page bottom) these troublesome vanishing
lines, so I assumed the trouble was side-to-side. But shrinking the lines
horizontally didn't solve it either! And throughout all of this, they show
up merrily enough in Print Preview...
I could understand part of a line not printing, or maybe a few lines.
But this is ALL lines, and most if not all "borders" around pictures. My
boss first blamed the printer driver, asking me if there was an update
(there's not). He then called Best Buy, who of course told him to get Office
2007 to fix his problem.

Any help you can give is MUCHO appreciated!

Is your printer driver current? Some printer manufacturer's have developed Vista
drivers. Are you printing at the maximum dpi? Are the lines hairline?
