autoshapes

Why is my autoshapes color fill not working in Publisher. After I make an
autoshape and open the format autoshape window I am having trouble filling
the shapes with color. When I use the drop down tab for color fill, the
color sample is highlighted but when I am done with the drop down and color
is shown in the format box under fill-the color does not show. Additionally,
when the format box is open, the color I chose for the shape is visible on my
document, but once I close the format box, my autoshape in my design
disappears once again. The shapes are not visible at all-even in print
preview. I have tried the color fill from my toolbar too. They are at the
front of my design and not hidden by any other object. What is wrong? Any
ideas?

What about when the document is printed (for example, to a PDF or
Microsoft Office Document Image file)?

OK...when I printed the document, the shapes and colors came out correctly.
But they still do not show up when I am working on the document or in print
preview. Any suggestions? Thanks.
(p.s. I am working in Publisher 2003)

You were right-it was an outdated video driver. I am up and running again.
