Autosum button functions

Happy new year all,

I have Office XP Professional addition at my office pc and on my home pc. Now on my home pc the AutoSum button on the standard toolbar has a down arrow next to it which enables me to sum, average, count etc but on my work pc it has no down arrow for those functions but just the normal button to click to autosum.

Any ideas?

Many Thanks
Adam

You are absolutely sure that the Excel at work is Excel XP, ie if you do Help /
About Microsoft Excel, it says Microsoft Excel 2002?

2000 and prior had the icon you describe, hence my query.

Happy New Year to you Adam.

It sounds, as if your work pc has an
Excel 2000 (or earlier) installed.
You can get the same functionality
by selecting a range of numbers and
right-clicking the status bar, where it
says Sum = (or similar) and choose
from the list.

Its definately Excel 2002 , could it be a .pst issue where its used the 2000 toolbar? If so do I just copy a pst from the CD?

Seems strange - Try View / Toolbars / Customise / Reset

Thats the trick Ken, thats sorted it.

Think I might have transferred my old .pst to this version so I kept my toolbars.

Thanks

And a prosperous one to you Adam

You have to type in the function for yourself I'm afraid.
e.g. Type =Max( then point the range to find the max and
press enter.

Excel will enter the closing bracket for you. Have a look
at the Paste Function dialog (click the Fx icon) and see a
list of all the functions available; you'll then have to
decide what to do with them

Peter

*.pst files are your Personal Folders from Outlook.

*.xlb file is your Toolabar and menu settings.
