Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) How do I get Autosum to be highlighted as an option? I've tried everything, to no avail. Thanks for your help.

"Everything" covers a lot of territory :) Does Control/Right-Clicking the
Toolbar & selecting the Reset command happen to fall within that range?

If you'd be more specific about what you have tried it would make it easier
to avoid having those options needlessly suggested. Knowing what hasn't
worked may also help point to what might. How about confirming that Office
is fully updated (12.2.3)?

Sorry I wasn't more specific, but you were a little snippy. Basically, I am very familiar with Excel, but not with the Mac version. I created a canned budget worksheet and cannot get the Autosum to work. I can see the icon, but it is not highlighted. I read the help instructions and it says that all you do is click on the cell below your column of numbers and click on Autosum and it will automatically add for you. What have I tried, you ask? Everything I know, exploring every possibility I could think of, and general button-clicking. Sorry I can't be more specific. I just can't figure it out...

Make sure that:

1) There is at least one blank row between the top of your numbers and
anything else

2) None of your numbers have been stored as text.

These are the only things I can think of that will break AutoSum.

Hope this helps
