Autosum not Working

Why does autosum not capture all the cells in the formula?

I have input "=SUM(E4:E10)" in cell E11. Yet, when I go to input a new
value in E5, the total sum in E11 does not change.

I"ve never had that happen before. I've tried clearing out cells and it's
not working.

Help.

Goto Tools|Options|Calculation
and make sure that you have Automatic checked
