AutoText (2nd Post)

I have lost all my auto text inserts. When I go to the top of the menu and
click on Insert, then I find if I then try to click on from Attention Line
to Closing or even Signature, I find I have no listing from none of them.

I tried to repair and reinstall Word 2003 but found ether one did not work.
I even tried to restore my registry from three days ago.

Does anyone know how I can restore the listings?

Hi Moe,

The only other place I can think of to look would be under
Tools>Templates and Add-ins>Organizer>"Auto Text" and make sure all
those words still appear both in the left and right columns of the
dialogue box. for your normal.dot global template. (At least that's
where they show in mine).

Good luck with this, it sounds like a very frustrating problem!

Thanks but I double checked and all is there.

I am thinking of removing Office 2003 and reinstalling.

I got my answer to fix my problem. Below is what I received from a person in
another Newsgroup. I hope this may help someone else.

Or are you talking about the default AutoText entries? Rename your
Normal.dot to Normal.old, then Word might make a new one for you the
next time you start up the application. It should contain the default
entries.
