Autotext does not work.

Autotext fails when I use Autotext as in Printed on, or Filename along with
all the other automatic fill in. All I get is the text if any plus a Square
then the "Word" of the function see below the word with quotes is show
instead of the value.
Note the Square is not showing here, but each is a copy and paste from my
document.

December 11, 2001 This one works (DATE)

Does anyone know what is going on and how do I fix it.

I do have other things in my Header as in merge format that when I do the ALT
+ F9 I loose that information and it is now showing the "WORD" of the
function. The Autotext did not change.

I have the same problem: Word 2002, SP3 The path to the
file name is totally missing, started and ended by a 1. The
actual file name shows, following the second 1. Have
replaced Normal.dot; have messed with a few things. Can't
fix it.

When you two want to post back in English, giving specific examples of what
you expect to see and what you are seeing instead, perhaps someone will be
able to help you.

Can I Print a leter in PDF then forward to this forum? That would be the
easiest, as the PDF file captures the problem where your system might be
working and shows correctly.

Also another courious thing happens. If I save a new document, then open it
back up then ether edit it or just resave it a error popup window says Word
fixed the problem but shows nothing in the box as what or where the fix was
preformed.

You might try creating a new Normal.dot. It could be some of the
AutoText entries are corrupt. Locate Normal.dot and rename it to
OldNormal.dot. Word will create a new one upon starting.

If this resolves the problem, any customizations can be copied to the
new Normal.dot via the Organizer (Tools/Templates and Add-Ins) Once
this is complete OldNormal.dot can be discarded. If the problem still
exists then you can delete the new Normal.dot and rename your
OldNormal.dot to Normal.dot.
