autotext from XP to Vista

i need to copy my autotext, autocorrect, and custom dictionary from a desktop
running Windows XP to a laptop running Windows Vista. i have already copied
my normal.dot on the old machine but i can't figure out how/where to put it
on the new one. Forgive me, but I'm generally a dunce at computer stuff like
this so you'll have to talk to me like I'm a 1st grader. I have already
reviewed http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm and
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/ExportAutocorrect.htm. Some of it is
like Greek to me, and it does not seem applicable for moving from XP to
Vista. Can anyone help?

What version of Word you are using (2000, 2002,, 2003, 2007)?

Save your old normal.dot to a folder on your new machine (it doesn't
matter where, as long as you remember the folder location). In Word,
click Tools -> Templates and Add-ins -> Organizer. Click Close file in
the left side of the dialogue box and then Open file. Browse to your
old normal.dot and double click it.

Now you can copy items from your old normal.dot (on the left side) to
your new normal.dot (on the right side).

Re: the dictionary, I see the full path listed. Do i just copy this file
like i did with the Autotext?
