Autotext - how to clean up the menu

I had a software on this machine that created several (what look like)
folders under the Insert/Autotext menu item. None of these entries do
anything useful for me.

How can one remove these items manually? Where are they stored? I've
removed the .dot that linked to the old software but the entries
remained and were broken. I've looked all over and haven't found
anything.

Thanks.

The submenus in AutoText represent categories based on paragraph style.
For more on how this works, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/AutoTextList.htm

If you don't want to see these submenus, you can remove the corresponding
AutoText entries from the list in Insert | AutoText | AutoText;
alternatively, you can create some entries that are of use to you in these
styles.

I have a bunch of items on that menu, each one pointing to a submenu
that contains nothing but the same item repeated. They are legitimate
AutoText entries that I created, but they are not in different styles.
They're all in Normal style. So what the AutoText feature has done is
to create a separate menu and submenu for each individual AutoText entry
in the Normal style, instead of putting them all on one menu. Also,
there is an item on the menu called Normal. Its submenu contains a
bunch of different entries from the entries on the main AutoText menu,
which are also in Normal style. The upshot is, it's hard to find any
rhyme or reason in how this feature works.
