Microsoft Word 2008

I made an autotext entry, but whenever i start typing it doesnt fill it in and i have to type the whole thing. I would also liek it to be under the signature menu but it don't have a clue how to do that...

Uh, I'm afraid your question is not making a whole lot of sense (but
thanks for stating your version of Word!)

If you want to see little yellow boxes with your AutoText pop up, so
that you can hit enter to accept it and insert the entire AutoText, then
go to Tools | AutoCorrect, AutoText tab, and check the box to "show
AutoComplete tip..."

If that is *not* what you mean by "it doesn't fill it in", please explain.

I also have no clue what you mean by "under the signature menu"--can you
be a little more clear?

Additional to Daiya's comments;

Keep in mind that each AutoCorrect entry must have a unique name at least 4
characters in length in order to trigger the AutoComplete action. IOW, if
you have 2 entries that are named:

myautotext1
myautotext2

You'll have to type the whole name before the program knows which one to
offer, but if you named them:

my1autotext
my2autotext

You'd only need type the first 4 characters: my1a or my2a to trigger the
corresponding AutoComplete tip.

How - exactly - did you create the entries?

As far as adding to the Insert> AutoText> Signature submenu I don't know
that it can be done - at least not by any readily available means.

I don't have an Insert | AutoText | Signature submenu.....

But AutoTexts are listed in the Customize Toolbars dialog and can be
moved around, possibly to there? I keep some autoTexts directly on a
toolbar.

Thanks for the help, i think i got it now
As for the signature menu, if you go to insert|autotext there should be a menu item called "signature company" which includes a company but not a signature. If anyone know how to do that it would be helpful, but i have the basic autotext down for now

thanks again

You might find using a third party application to insert shortcuts to be
really helpful. Several are covered in "Insert text automatically into a
message (Part One)"
