Autotext inserts entry only after four characters

Hello, is there a way to change/modify the character entry limit for using
autotext? MS article says to make sure the name contains at least four
characters because Word inserts an entry only after four characters have been
typed. I have a autotext entry for our company name that only contains two
characters and the autotext is not being displayed until they hit the space
bar a couple times. thanks

No, but you can do is redefined the AutoText Entry.

For example if you are using cn for Company Name
then redefine as ourcn.

AutoText names are required to be 4 or more characters in order to trigger
the AutoComplete feature to help ensure uniqueness. AFAIK, there is no way to
change that.

You can create a macro to insert the AutoText, regardless of the shorter
name, and assign a keystroke to it and/or add the macro to a toolbar button
or menu.

As Greg and Cybertaz have pointed out, the AutoText name must be at least
four letters if you want to use AutoComplete. You can always type the entry
name and press F3 to insert the AutoText, but if you want a more automatic
substitution than that, perhaps you should consider an AutoCorrect entry
instead of AutoText? See

Thanks. I need to set this up for all domain users. Is there a way to use
Active Directory to get this pushed out?

You can share AutoText (as well as other customizations) using one or more
custom global templates (not replacements for normal.dot but supplements).
