autotext or?

Hi. Am trying to computerize forms. I can do text
fields, drown down menus, no problem. But I have long
sentences I want to enter into autotext, or dropdown
menus, and have problems. The long sentences are too long
for drop downs, it seems. And autotext just saves on the
computer where it is created. I need to share this stuff
with other computers. So how do I do that?

Thankx!

AutoText is saved in templates. If you can share the template (which is how
you ought to be distributing a form, anyway), you can share the AutoText.
This will allow you to use an AutoTextList field.

To follow up on Suzanne's answer, if your Autotext will be used in only a
few forms, it should be in the templates for those forms. Those templates
can be in the Workgroup Templates folder. If your AutoText will be used in
many or most of your documents, it can be put into a global template. That
is also stored in a network folder but a different folder, accessible for
read-only access by your users. Each user's login script should copy your
template to the user's Word Startup folder (which can be on the individual
computer or in a personal network folder on the server).

There is an excellent page on the MVP FAQ about using the AutoTextList
field.

See the MVP FAQ: <URL: http://www.mvps.org/word/> which is awesome!
