(and 3.) How can I move Autotext entries from normal.dot into a
startup template? (Or, how create them in the startup template to
begin with...?)

Hi Jose,

In the Tools, Templates and Add-ins dialog, there is a button called
Organizer. This starts the organizer dialog which is desinged to allow you
to move styles, toolbars, macro items and autotext entries between documents
and templates.
