autotext popup balloons for Word 2007

Hi All,

I am looking for a way to simulate autotext popup balloons in Word 2007.

I have used Microsoft Word 2003 for years as an electronic medical record program for physicians. It works great! But I am seeking to move forward to Word 2007.

I have THOUSANDS of autotext shortcuts and the balloon popup is a very useful tool. For example,

the characters "amo242" offers "Amoxil 250 tid #42"

"dig2" offers "digoxin 0.250 mg qd"

"vera24030" offers "verapamil SA Calan SR 240 mg qd"

"eurc" offers "eurax cream 10% 60 Gm, apply from chin down & leave on, repeat application in 24 hrs, bathe in 48 hrs. May repeat once 2 weeks later"

AND

the letters "bronchi" offer medical progress note completion:

"cough w/o sob nor tight chest w/o nausea, vomiting, fever, or chills nor lateral chest pain nor serious sob; seems to arise from chest; postnasal discharge noted w/o face ache.

O: NAD nontoxic conjunctivae not grossly injected; oropharynx wnl; neck wnl; nasal membranes wnl CR: cta & percussion; RSR w/o murmur, gallop, click or altered 2nd sound

A: bronchitis 490

P: . "

But the letters "bronc" offer "494 bronchiectasis" which is an international classification of disease number required to be used as billing codes.

The balloon popup lets the physician know there is a shortcut if he does not know it's there but just hidden.

Alternatively, I am looking for Word 2007 code to show the autotext index so that I can make a two keystroke shortcut to it so that my fingers and eyes do not need to go to the ribbon nor "quick access" toolbar.

Cheers . Gil

Thank you Graham,

Hmmm. I gather some of them have popup balloons. Do you know which might be more highly regarded than others and more apt to work
better with Word? I intend to check some out.

Some work locations may require use of Word 2007 in near future.

TIA
Gil

The one I use is GhosttyperXML 3.0 though I am not sure whether it is still
available. It will work with any application that accepts input from the
keyboard.
