AutoText Still Not Working

That did not work either. It's like when I type something
it's fine, when I try and just do an autoinsert it imports
something that this 1 followed by a lot of boxes ending in
a 1. I can't toggle the codes or anything. Is there a
way to change a file, or rebuild autoinsert, or perhaps
clear something in the registry?

Hi, BigAL. In Word, click on Tools | Options | File Locations, and note
the folder for User Templates. Close Word, rename the normal.dot file
in the User Templates folder to normal.old or normal.temp or something
else, and start Word (Word will automatically create a new normal.dot
file). Can you insert AutoText now? If so, then the problem was a
damaged normal.dot template. If desired, you can click on Tools |
Templates and Addins | Organizer, and copy your customizations from your
renamed normal.dot to the new normal.dot.

This worked like a charm, I had to do this earlier for
someone else, but I couldn't remember the file name.
Thanks
