AutoText Trouble

Hi, I'm new to the Office Frustration and the forums so bear with me.

I'm having trouble with autotext on one of my PCs, which until recentl
was working perfectly but has stopped automatically completing al
words/phrases that we have entered over a period of time.

Show autocomplete suggestions is ticked, we've tried deleting an
re-entering some of words, obviously done the reboot thing and we'v
also tried MS online help section but to no avail.

The only way we can use the feature on this particular machine is b
the 'insert' facility.

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated as I'm foxed as to wh
it won't work. Thanks.

If you can still use the Insert function to insert the entries then it
sounds like you have duplicate AutoText entries. Do you see more than one
occurance of the same entry? If so then more than likely there's a global
template that has the same entries loaded. Even if you don't see duplicates,
go to Tools/Templates and Add-ins and see if you have any global templates
listed. If so, deselect them and try your AutoText entries. If they now work
then you need to locate the offending global template and delete the entries
(or delete the duplicates from your Normal template).

If that isn't it, then note in order for the AutoComplete tip to display the
first four characters of the AutoText entry must be unique. (Note if the
first five characters are unique then you need to type five characters
instead of four and so on.) Are the first characters for the entries that do
not work unique?
